One of the common misconceptions about DUI blood testing is that people think that an entire 10 ml vial of blood is tested. It is not. The actual amount tested can be seen in the picture below. (Note: There is a difference in the two vials. Can you tell what it is?)
The vial on the right has 20% more blood in it than the vial on the left.
When testing amounts of blood this small, accuracy (bias), precision (calibration) and proper handling are of critical importance. Even the smallest deviation or contamination can result in an erroneous result and an erroneous result can result in an innocent person landing in jail and losing their license.
When we are testing things that are this small, there is no room for error.
That’s why you need a law firm that believes that there must be no error in its practice of law.
Knowing the science behind the testing is a big part of being a successful DUI attorney and is a big part of what we do at The McShane Firm. Call 1-866-MCSHANE if you have any questions on DUI blood testing.
