Attorney Justin J. McShane and Josh D. Lee take over the editor roles of Inside the Minds: Understanding DUI Scientific Evidence.
For a long time Josh D. Lee and I have presented forensic science to thousands of lawyers and judges all over the United States. This is why when the editor position for the Thompson-West publication, Inside the Minds: Understanding DUI Scientific Evidence the publisher contacted us to take it over from the fine beginnings of the now deceased Lawrence Wines, Esquire. Larry was a lion among us. These a big shoes to fill. Humbly, we think that we did with this year’s edition.
I have spent an extensive amount of time studying the science behind DUI cases. It is essential because the most crucial pieces of evidence are the test results and pharmacology related issues. To insure justice results in DUI cases you need to know the science. It is essential for attorneys.
As part of my commitment to justice, I try my best to impart that knowledge to other attorneys through various seminars, articles, blog posts, email listserv participation and books. One such book that was recently released is Inside the Minds: Understanding DUI Scientific Evidence
The Inside the Minds series focuses on complex legal issues and is authored by the top lawyers an experts in that field. In this latest publication, I authored 3 chapters discussing the problems with the forensic science that is used in DUI cases.
Understanding the science behind blood and breath tests is critical for a good DUI attorney. No lawyer in Pennsylvania has lectured and written about these subjects more than I have.
My theory is simple. If you don’t know the science, you can’t challenge the evidence. If you can’t challenge the evidence, you can’t make sure justice results the case. If you can’t win, you have no business wasting the hard earned money of your clients.
