As a criminal defense lawyer, I have dealt closely with the police and witnessed first hand how they can sometimes be. While most are honorable and want to do the right thing, there are more than a few who do not.
However, this one incident we are about to write about is too much. I am lost for words at how horrible and defiled this act is. I am literally aghast right now.
Two Texas women were put through the most humiliating search imaginable. Their sanctity was violated; they were sexually assaulted.
Back in July, police officers stopped the two on a state highway near Irving, Texas. They were originally stopped for suspicion of DUI. On suspicion of marijuana possession they searched the vehicle. After they found nothing, state trooper Kelley Helleson searched the women’s body which included probing the vagina and anus of each of them with her finger (using a glove, but the same glove used for both women).
The incident was recorded on the dash camera. Warning! This is extremely graphic and disturbing:
This is horrible. No human deserves to be violated like this. What’s worse is that this has been an ongoing problem and people have been violated in this manner before. At the end of the video when the driver complains that a finger was up her anus and up her “cha cha,” she is told “well blame the daily pot smoker who smokes in the car.”
These officers violated the sacred covenant they were entrusted to uphold. They were supposed to protect these women and all of us from criminals.
Who is going to protect us from the police?!
